A perfect match... Louie meets Louie

And they lived happily ever after…. I never revealed my Valentines Day gift. So here it is – shhhhhhh I knew what I was getting the moment I opened my Christmas gift – hehehe….. Sometimes Honey is predictable – he actually did the same thing with my other LV bag and wallet set. I adore the bag and especially the color. I never realized that burgundy goes with so many different colors.

Enough of that………It’s Friday and I just got paid! Most of you have a 3 day weekend and some of us do not (me) I’ll make the best of my Monday in the office with limited staff.

I think I will celebrate the Presidents by spending some dead presidents at Woodbury Commons on Sunday – Not sure what I’m looking for but Tory Burch is calling my name……

I Love Sephora......my recent purchase

I just brought a new eyeliner from Sephora (I love this store). It was only $5.00. The color is midnight black. It slides on so smooth- since I’m far from an expert when it comes to applying make-up, if it’s easy it’s a winner in my book. Although I don’t wear make-up everyday – I try to apply eyeliner and/or mascara and lip-gloss before leaving the house. This one is definitely a keeper!

Also, I’m in search of a new summer fragrance – Any suggestions?

Another Life Taken and Many Other's Ruined..............

My heart and prays goes out to Guimmia Villa two young sons and her family. Another senseless murder and another family destroyed.

Yesterday afternoon Guimmia estranged husband walked into her place of work with a bouquet of roses and shot her in the face. He returned to his home in Ravenswood housing project a few blocks away (the housing project where Guimmia lived her with her mother up to 6 months ago) and cowardly committed suicide with a shot to the head. A tragic moment of vehement love and just a few days shy of Valentines Day and following a fight they had the previous weekend.

Guimmia seemed to follow the victim’s of DV (domestic violence) protocol…..She renewed one of the orders of protections on Monday morning that was set to expire next month – her Nassau County order was due to expire in April. She recently moved from her mother’s home, which was the area where her estranged husband lived. This was a 32 year old woman who was in a violent relationship. She had 2 kidney transplants and survived for a reason and to have her life taken from her by the hands of her husband – is senseless.

Although I did not know her personally – having gone through an abusive relationship, I can only imagine her story that she will never get to tell. She lives behind 2 boy’s ages 6 and 9, friends and family – whom I sure will miss her.

In this story, I didn’t care to mention her “estranged husbands” name – because it really don’t matter – another women's life taken from domestic violence…………..

Why do You walk?

So I received an email from GMHC today......

Why do You walk?

It took me a while to put the words on paper but the thoughts gathered in my head in seconds…

I walk because both of my parents died and they were both HIV positive

I walk because I lost an Uncle who died and he was HIV positive

I walk because there is a person in my life who is like a mother to me that lives with HIV

I walk because Black & Hispanic women have the largest percentage of HIV in America

I walk because I have a daughter

I walk because I have a son

I walk for those who died not even knowing they had the disease

I walk for the kids who parents died as they live with the disease

I walk for the activist who continues to spread the word in our communities

I walk for the doctor who volunteered to open the free clinic and provide free testing

I walk for me

I walk for you

I walk

I'm Back......

It’s been so long that I touched this blog, although I did check it from time to time – my writing trip down memory lane….

I’m just going to jump in – because really there is no right or wrong time – it’s a cold, icy, rainy Wednesday morning. My 50 minute commute was 3 hours due to the glossy ice covered streets, the frosted tracks and the wait for the rescue train – It could have been worse….I could still be stuck on the bridge in the stalled train with over 100 people in my train car alone.

I made it in and the reality of it is – It’s winter and I live in NYC – What can you expect!

This is a picture at the bus stop...yes that is all ICE

Life is Good!!!
